Almost there!!!

So, the past few hours have been a roller coaster of emotions and happenings. First was the torturous ordeal of trying to get the I.V. in, yeah, Tori almost passed out on that one. Then we found out that the amniotic fluid had a bit of meconium in it, which is the baby's first bowel movement. That either indicates that the baby is somewhat stressed, or her bowel has developed well and is functioning. It's not a bad thing but does require a bit of extra attention at the moment of birth.
Then started the long process of trying to dilate. We gradually stepped up from a "3ish" to a "maybe 4" to a "we'll call it a 5", etc. It got to the point that we were seriously considering a C-section if she didn't dilate more. We were essentially given an ultimatum, we get to a certain point by a certain time or go under the knife, more or less. So, a blessing and 40 mL\minute Pitocin later and the next thing we know she's at 9. Yeah, a 9. She literally dilated more in 30 minutes that she has in the last 30 days, literally.
The waiting game continues, but it's different now. With things where they are, we now are just waiting for that last centimeter and to start pushing, and to eat the coveted Asiago Cheese Bagel from Old Grist Mill. YUM!!!
